General Radiation Training

DeLisle Associates offers general radiation training for individuals who are required to take training as a provision of their work. The amount of training required is dictated by the level of commitment per site given to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Each site is different therefore it would be difficult to provide a general cost on training until the hourly commitment is known. DeLisle has a vast wealth of experience dealing in nuclear power plants and has conducted this training for consultants, private industry and commercial clientele. Each course is tailored to the type of work specified in the commitment.

Topics include:

  1. Introduction to Radiation
  2. History, its discoveries, components and important people
  3. Regulation Overview
  4. Background Information on Harnessing the Atom - Nuclear Power Plants/ Atomic Bombs
  5. Nuclear Accidents
  6. Safe Work Practices and Health Effects
  7. Respiratory Protection
  8. Monitoring and Personal Protective Equipment
  9. Contamination and the Role of Decontamination
  10. Hazard Communication of Isotopes
  11. Miscellaneous Site Information
  12. Hand's-on Components utilizing what has been learned

These courses range typically (depending on commitment) from 8 to 32 Hours. For DA to conduct this training, it will be necessary to be notified approximately one week prior to start of class. The amount of commitment and type of work being done will also need to be known.
