This Course is designed to promote awareness of the hazards of potential energy sources in the work place. Training is required for procedures of the Lockout/Tagout Program when systems and machines require service, maintenance, or cleaning. This training course satisfies requirements under Occupational Safety and Health Administrations 29 CFR 1910.147. Individuals that may require this training include:

1. Personnel who service and maintain machines and equipment in which the unexpected energization of start up of these machines or equipment could cause injury to the employee.

Topics include:

1. Principals of Energy and Movement
2. Types of Energy
3. Methods and Means for Energy Isolation and Control
4. Rational Behind Training
5. Periodic Inspections
6. Procedures for Application of The Program
7. Procedures for Release

These courses range typically (depending on commitment) from 8 to 32 Hours. For DA to conduct this training, it will be necessary to be notified approximately one week prior to start of class. The amount of commitment and type of work being done will also need to be known.
