LABORATORY SERVICES

DeLisle Associates LTD laboratory is located in Portage, Michigan and was established in 1985, and has strived to meet and exceed our client's expectations in the services we have provided for the last 20 years. DeLisle Associates asbestos bulk analysts are trained by the McCrone Research Institute, and have over 20 years of experience in the analysis of asbestos bulk samples.

DeLisle Associates is fully accredited by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) - Laboratory ID # 101013 - for the analyses of bulk samples for the determination of asbestos content by Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) utilizing EPA methodologies.  DeLisle Associates is also accredited by the AIHA for asbestiform air sample analysis, using current NIOSH 7400 methods through the use of Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM).  DeLisle Associates participates in external Round Robin AIHA Proficiency Analytical Testing (PAT) program for analysis for airborne fiber samples, as well as the AIHA Asbestos Analyst Registry for qualification to analyze airborne fiber samples on-site.

All of our Phase Contrast Microscopy analysts have successfully completed a NIOSH-582 equivalency course to analyze air samples.  All analysts participate in an inter-laboratory and external round robin samples exchange program for quality assurance.

DeLisle Associates performs a variety of asbestos lab testing for air, bulk material, water, and particulate samples by phase contrast microscopy, polarized light microscopy.

•  Bulk Material Analyses

•  Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM)

•  Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM)

•  Small Particle Analysis

•  Surface Failure Analysis

Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM)

Phase contrast microscopy (PCM) is used to determine fiber concentrations in air. All asbestos analyses are performed in strict compliance with the NIOSH 7400 Method, counting rules A. Fiberglass is determined using the same method and counting rules B. The PCM laboratory is AIHA accredited and a successful participant in the Proficiency Analytical Testing program.

Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM)

Polarized light microscopy (PLM) is used to determine asbestos fiber concentrations in bulk building materials. PLM is applicable to the analysis of building survey submissions and other bulk materials. In addition, it is used to determine asbestos concentrations in soil by California Method 435 and in building materials by NESHAP methods. The laboratory is also accredited by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA).
