Powered Industrial Lift Truck Training

This course complies with the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.178 and its revisions and should be taken by any individual who operates a powered industrial lift truck as a matter of their work tasks. Non compliance with training requirements can result in OSHA penalties and citations as well as possible litigation and liability for the business owner.

3. The use of Permits
4. Restrictions from use
5. Mechanical Condition/ Maintenance
6. Inspection of machines
7. Forklift Classes
8. Safe Operation
9. Do's and Don'ts
10. Hazard Communication on specific fuels

The aforementioned topics outline a classroom course, designed to satisfy the regulation. However, additional training is required on site, on the specific machine (s) the employer will be using in their job tasks. Site specific training by the employer is a requirement of the regulation. An employer, or an employer's representative must certify that an employee can operate a machine safely and issue the employee a license for that machine. DA can perform these on site tasks but must be allowed at least a week prior to site visits in order to accurately assess the requirements of each individual machine.
